BREXIT:
Some British expats have lived in France using their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
But if they mean to apply for French residency, they should be aware that the EHIC will not be accepted as proof of health cover. Indeed this document grants
no health rights if you are permanently resident and can be used only by visitors for temporary stays in France (or EU).
TAX:
A reminder for those who live in different countries including France.
Living in France less than 6 months doesn't mean that you can't be considered tax resident in France. The 6 month rule is not absolute.
You can be deemed tax resident in France if you spend more time in France than in another country!

BREXIT:
The opening of the new website for British citizens living in France has been delayed again.
It was first expected to open by July 1st. But as the Préfectures were closed during lockdown, they weren’t ready to process residency applications for UK citizens.
Now, it is expected that the website will open on October 15th and not October 1st as previously stated.
For now, the final deadline to apply for residency cards remains set at June 30th, 2021 but discussions are in process to extent it.
COVID-19:
Acts of sales a property can be signed
remotely.
The notary is allowed to draft up the deed of sale electronically and remotely
collect the consent and the electronic signature of the parties. This will be
possible until a period of one month after the period of state of emergency so until
the 24th of June. The goal is also here not to slow down the process of
buying/selling a property during this period of sanitary crisis.

COVID-19:
The 10 day cooling off period after
signing a deed of sale carries on running.
If you have been in a process of purshasing a property, the 10 day cooling off
period after signing the first act keep running. Indeed, after deciding by an
ordonnance of March 25th, that the 10 day cooling off period was suspended, an other
ordonnance published on April 16th notices that finally, this period keeps running.
The goal is not to slow down the process of buying/selling a property.

COVID-19:
A three-month extension for long stay
visas and titres de séjour.
Long stay visas and titres de séjour that expired during the lockdown benefit from
an automatic three-month extension, which means that people holding a long stay visa
that expired during lockdown can legally stay even after their visa expiration.

COVID-19:
Extension of the validity of vehicle’s
safety certificates.
The controle technique vehicle safety certificates that expire during lockdown
benefit from an extension which means that people can keep driving legally even
after the certificate expiration.
